From TONY OSAUZO, Benin
A family of four, comprising, husband, wife and two children has been crushed to death by a tanker at Egba junction along the Benin-Auchi road.
The tanker laden with fuel, reportedly fell on the Honda car the family was travelling with and killed the occupants. The fuel spilled on the road and the first car that attempted to drive through the crash went up in flames, killing the driver. The accident caused a traffic gridlock on the road, even as officials of the fire service arrived to prevent spread of the inferno.
Confirming the incident, Edo State Sector Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps, Kenneth Nwaegbe however said one person has been found dead. He said the fire was yet to be extinguished at press time.
